Lisa Browning began the Yoga program at CBW in 2004, after being certified through a program at Asheville Yoga Center. All of the instructors at the studio are certified and registered by The Yoga Alliance, which insists on the gold standard in education and continuing education. When deciding how to choose your first Yoga class at the studio; go to the class schedule and hover/click over any class to get a full description of the class. The names are confusing when you are new to yoga!
We have two Beginner's level yoga classes on the schedule weekly. The Mindful Yoga (2x/wk) is another slower paced class that is very appropriate for beginners. Intermediate Level Classes are just that moving you from a slower paced class to more Vinyasa Style, with more challenging poses. Vinyasa Flow Yoga will move at a faster pace, with the most challenging poses and sequences. You can begin and learn in any class, it's a journey, but an enjoyable one!
The Yoga program at CBW is well rounded. We have a strong base in working with seniors, and have three instructors with a specialty in this area. We teach a strong foundation of alignment of the body, and breath work. Mediation is recognized in most of our classes.
